Let’s try this again

Welcome to my new, new, new weblog. This is probably the fourth different re-launch of a weblog for me. I started out back in 2000/2001 when the whole Internet sector began to melt. While having lunch with a buddy of mine we were relating our disgust over the overly negative reporting going on in the media. Some “journalists” were reporting the-sky-is-falling rubbish and making wild claims that the entire concept of something like buying goods over the Internet had proven to be a failure. The first crack at a weblog was an attempt to challenge some of the more asinine claims by journalists and/or give a forum to people who were actually surviving.

Well, the market turned around, journalists came to their senses, and there was less reporting to mock. Actually, that’s not entirely true. There still existed plenty of journalism worth mocking but the tone of most stories turned more hopeful about the prospects of the technology sector so it became less fun to roast the author. So, without a purpose the first weblog sort of drifted from topic to topic with no central theme or goal. Mindlessly wandering, the site sort of morphed into a place to post funny websites, then tech related websites, and then into a place for me to showcase crazy ideas such as questionnaires I wrote that people could fill out to find out either which washed up former Internet celebrity they resembled most or which celebrity pedophile they were most like.

Anyway, to make a long story short, I’ve decided to stop attempting to appeal to an audience and to just do and write about whatever I want. If you like it, fine. If not, that’s fine too. Enjoy . . . or not.
