I think Jason at pokerodyssey.com used to have a skin, but I can't find it anymore. There was also some guy on RGP who's selling one that looks like an Excel spreadsheet.

Good luck on your port forwarding thing. I think you're right about doing some sort of ssh port forwarding thing _should_ work, but it may be difficult to make it work reliably.

Stumbled across your blog on accident a few days ago, didn't plan on reading it till I saw hold 'em... now I come back to see what your up to and have gotten some valuable info! (ie- the poker room NOT to visit in the Bay area) I'm also in So. Cal and I must agree, we're quite spoiled! A friend recently moved away and complains about the poker rooms he finds elsewhere in terms of size, limits, and atmosphere.

Anyhow- I may have a suggestion for your poker playing while out of the country... It's a method I've used before... Remote control your home PC from where your vacationing. (note- if you don't have a highspeed connection at both places, throw this idea out the window now)

BUT- if both do you are in luck. Assuming you don't have a static IP at home, just use a free service like dyndns.org

As for how to remote control... If the home PC and the away PC are both Windows XP, I recommend using the built in Remote Desktop.

If they are not XP you can use many of the other solutions out there. The only good free one I know of is WinVNC (www.realvnc.com)

There are many excellent pay solutions too: PcAnywhere, RAdmin, Carbon Copy, the list goes on...

oh, I've never used it but www.gotomypc.com is supposed to be easy to use and free for a home user- but I've never cared look into it, I'm happy with my other solutions. If you need any help, feel free to contact... replace the ='s with @ and .

Jason, I like the way you think. :-)

Problem is that my server is Linux. I have a dual proc box/server at home with the latest MS software on it though (thank you, MSDN) and PC Anywhere so that just may work. I don't have a static IP but they haven't changed my IP in two years so it's pretty static without being static. Only problem is I leave on Sat. and I'll only be gone a week so I don't know how much effort I really want to put into this. I was sort of hoping for a more stable solutions (using Linux) since I would love to be able to open the gates to our friends who have somewhat oppressive governments.

Anyway, I hope you keep coming back around. Can't promise I'll always talk about Hold 'Em but I may bitch and moan about So Cal from time to time so maybe that will keep your interest :-)
