I had a so-so week this week but some monster sessions which put me over the $2000 mark after just 34 days. Monday I made a $46 profit after being down most of the session. I came back on Tuesday and made $208 on just 150 hands. Wed, Thurs, and Fri I didn’t play at all. And on Sat. I played two sessions. First session netted $55.50 and the second session in the evening brought in $286 bringing my 34 day total to $2000.75.
This gives me a nice little bankroll to play $3/$6 regularly which was the goal.
But, what about my other online accounts? Hmmmm . . . well, I took the $600 I started with on Paradise and moved it over to Party. They have a $100 deposit bonus I was able to take advantage of so I’ve got a nice $2/$4 bankroll started there. I think I’m going to attempt to clear $2000 at Party playing $2/$4 much like I did at Paradise (with a 60 day target, etc.). I probably won’t post updates here simply because I think it would get boring.
This might be an interesting experiment though. I always have made money on Paradise and lost money on Party. Party was always much, much looser than Paradise so one is more exposed to the suck-out factor. I’m hoping that will actually work to my advantage though. Over the last 30 – 60 days I’ve really been smashing the looser games. The loose players used to frustrate me to no end but over the last 3 – 4 months I’ve become really good at playing against that type of player. Sure, I’ve said a few curse words when some guy check-calls me down with pocket aces and then check-raises me on the river but like they say, it’s about odds and if you’re playing tight/aggressive poker you’re going to get the best of it against that guy more often than not.
Well, I should get off to bed soon. I’ve got that qualifer for the WPT in the morning. :-)

Sixty Day Challenge Day 2

Hi, my name is Bill Rini and this is my poker blog. I've been blogging about poker and the poker industry since around 2003-ish. Like most people I started out playing poker as entertainment in home games whenever we wanted to sit around and smoke cigars, drink beer, and eat pizza, and needed a good excuse. I started playing online shortly after the first online card rooms opened and it wasn't long before I was playing 20, 30, or even 40 hours a week or more. One day I received a phone call about a program manager position at Tiltware which was the company that consulted to Full Tilt Poker on software development and marketing. After Tiltware I spent about 2.5 years working at Party Poker where I was the poker room manager.
