The Olympic Games . . . Oops, I’m now need permission to post

by Bill Rini on August 26, 2004

in General Ramblings

Though this story is tied to Bush and people have their various opinions of him, the International Olympic Committee (IOC) has asked Bush to quit running ads because the ads mention the Olympics. According to the IOC, even though no trademarked symbols are used, the fact that the ad mentions that Iraq and Afghanistan now have Olympic teams going to the games in Athens needs their approval. So does this mean that every person who even references the Olympic games must receive approval? How many times have I just violated that rule in this post? This would be funny if it wasn’t so sad.
