PartyPoker Freezes

by Bill Rini on September 14, 2004

in Poker

Just throwing this out there in case anybody has any advice. I can’t seem to stay on PartyPoker. I login, sit down at a table or two or three and within a minute or so all of the screens lock up. I click close and Windows pops up an error message telling me that the program is not responding and asks me if I want to kill it. I say yes and the entire app shuts down.

I’ve emailed Party about it and they gave me the first level clean up cookies, empty your temp dir stuff but since I have an almost new system with 1GB RAM and over 100GB of free disk space I’m pretty sure that’s not the culprit. I caused a crash and sent them the memory dump so we’ll see what happens. I can’t make a cause and effect argument for it just yet but this never happened before I installed XP Service Pack 2 so that may end up being the bugger. Though, that being said, I can’t believe I’m the only guy with the problem (yes, I did deactivate the Firewall to see if that was the problem).

As Matt Drudge would say . . . . Developing . . . .

I have the same problem. Ever since I upgraded to SP2 PP starts running extremely slow and eventually freezes. The system starts to run so slow it takes a whole reboot to get it back running again This never happened when running XP before I upgraded to sp2. Some sort of conflict obviously.

Please help PP!

Thanks

I’ve been having the same problem recently… but I don’t think my problem is related to SP2 as I haven’t recently installed it.

When it freezes… I just Ctl-alt-del and when the Task Manager pops up… I get PP back.

Any hope?
