The tourney last Thursday was the largest one yet – 40 players! If you haven’t attended one of these events yet, you are missing out.
The only real bad beat that was reported was when Ray Reynosa got a
taste of his own medicine. Ray flopped top pair and was put all-in. Ray called and his opponent showed J4 (nothing). Two running fours then made trips to knock Ray out of the tourney. I’m not even going to recap the world of hurt that Thor dished out on me before the first break.
Rini remembered to start taking photos a little after midnight. Here
are the photos (including the final hand):
Quote of the night: Admiring Dennis Smith, Thor proclaimed, “You have a really nice head of hair.” He was either trying to throw Dennis off his game or he was truly jealous. You decide.
Results:
The total prize pool was $3775.
1st place – Dennis Smith – $1,500 (40%)
2nd place – Harmik Gharapetian – $1,140 (30%)
3rd place – Chaz Wexler – $755 (20%)
4th place – Steve Pratt – $380 (10%)
5th place – Kevin Goldberg – nada, zip, zilch. (0%)
The $100 Head Hunter bonus went to Dennis Smith for knocking Forman out of the tourney.
After Dennis’ big win, he poured salt into the wound saying “I’ve got a newborn at home. I wasn’t even going to come out tonight.” Whatever, dude.
We are tentatively planning on Dec 9 for the next event.
See you all then,
-Zengy (and Kevin and Bill)

Hi, my name is Bill Rini and this is my poker blog. I've been blogging about poker and the poker industry since around 2003-ish. Like most people I started out playing poker as entertainment in home games whenever we wanted to sit around and smoke cigars, drink beer, and eat pizza, and needed a good excuse. I started playing online shortly after the first online card rooms opened and it wasn't long before I was playing 20, 30, or even 40 hours a week or more. One day I received a phone call about a program manager position at Tiltware which was the company that consulted to Full Tilt Poker on software development and marketing. After Tiltware I spent about 2.5 years working at Party Poker where I was the poker room manager.
