Does Tilt have a buddy list? I can't seem to find it.

I know there's a "search" function, but that's it.

If I run into problems on FTP I'm going to bitch to two particular people... even *before* the end of the month.

Good post, Bill. They should hire you as a consultant. I'm not kidding.

As long as we're bitching about stuff, can you put your anti-comment spam number thing in a place where I can see it? Having it below the post button isn't working for me.

Er... nevermind about the last part of my last comment. I just realized you don't even have it on this page. Issue with Firefox compatibility?

This is a post I've been meaning to write for quite a while now, and never got around to it. You just whacked the nail right in the head. If someone were to write software that took the best from each of the sites, you'd really have something. And despite being the most popular, Party is the WORST offender of poor Interaction Design. The UI is soooo outdated, and could be made a ton quicker as far as response times go with just a little effort.

@Drizz - I'm not having any problems in Firefox. He's got the tab order set correctly, so it goes Name, Email, URL, Spambox, Comment. I guess if I wasn't a tab guy I might see a problem, but even then you have to scroll down to the submit button.

I only log a couple of hours per week, but I really can't say enough good things about Ultimate Bet. I've found their in-game interface to work exactly the way it's supposed to, although they do have the same refresh problem when you try to find an open table (how hard would it be to have a "take me to the first open table" option).

Also, their customer service has been really great to me. As long as you aren't abusive to them they seem to want to take care of the players.

Hear, hear!

The whole "separate actual buddies from fish" thing is such a simple idea that it really surprises me they haven't caught on to it yet. Especially UB, who's buddy list is an external program basically based on AIM/Yahoo/MSN and the like that has similar sort features.

this is an awesome post, bill, and very (ahem) timely. i have suffered from just about all of these issues at all of these sites. i've muttered countless times about the party lobby-lag and the waitforbb-sitout-dealin dance. and we've all mistakenly sat in the limit sit-n-go at least once.

i obviously feel that at least one of the sites you mention can and will make inroads on this stuff. keep pounding away on them, err, us. whoever. :)

Holy crap! I think I've figured out the whole sitting out thing while waiting for your blind at Party... I think it happens when you take a seat at another table. It then makes you sit out at the table(s) where you're waiting.

They need to fix that.
