Not often you run across something on 2+2 that makes you laugh so hard you snort but this one from Mason did the trick. Mason relates a story of a hand he played at the new Wynn casino where Mason is in the BB and the SB just completes. Check/Check on the flop, Check/Check on the turn, and the SB tosses his hand in the muck on the river before Mason can even act. Mason’s hand? 23o. La Brujita responded to Mason that he should have value bet his hand. sfer pipes in that what Mason calls 3 high, he calls the nut low. :-)
You ever have one of those hands where you wish someone would bet so you didn’t have to show down the crappy hand you played? For whatever reason you click Call. Then everybody checks the flop, the turn gets checked around and you start praying someone will bet so you can fold your heaping pile of nothing.

The Lighter Side of Poker

Hi, my name is Bill Rini and this is my poker blog. I've been blogging about poker and the poker industry since around 2003-ish. Like most people I started out playing poker as entertainment in home games whenever we wanted to sit around and smoke cigars, drink beer, and eat pizza, and needed a good excuse. I started playing online shortly after the first online card rooms opened and it wasn't long before I was playing 20, 30, or even 40 hours a week or more. One day I received a phone call about a program manager position at Tiltware which was the company that consulted to Full Tilt Poker on software development and marketing. After Tiltware I spent about 2.5 years working at Party Poker where I was the poker room manager.
