I will never play at an online poker site that doesn’t offer a bonus. Online Poker competition is fierce and someone always will. And that is where the smart low limit players will play.

I’m a part time player and I don’t care how much per hour I am making. I love the game, I play for competition and to learn. And after a couple months it’s nice to have an extra $3-5000 deposited into my bank account.

Even if it is minimum wage, how many other hobbies play you like $5-6 an hour?

Anyway, this whole discussion is pretty much irrelevant. Bonus whoring will never die.

I prefer the term Bonus scarlett woman or Bonus harlet, but I like your blog. I agree that many of the bonus whores are not intelligent and dont know how to maximize their earnings potential and/or incredibly suck at poker that they need the bonuses to stop losing so much money. However, it can be very profitable when done right. The best by far is Partypoker because of the ability to play 10 tables at once which allows the bonus to clear insanely fast and because all the worst people tend to play on partypoker which allows you to win as much at the tables as the bonus. (negating the times you get an all in called on a flush draw and get sucked out on but hey you want them to play like that anyway) So when your done with that bonus you can AHEM “help” a “friend” clear the same bonus. wink
P.S. I hope you dont get cancer and live a long, happy, productive, wealthy, errectile dysfunction free life

Generally, I’ll try a new site to check it out for a bit, but usually I’ll only have my money on at most two at a time. I’ve even signed up for a few WITHOUT a bonus offer.

I wish you no form of cancer, especially nut cancer.
However, I still maintain that a better way of doing business would be to still let me play poker on Empire, simply without any bonus opportunities.

As a recovering bonus whore, I am seeing that quality is definitely more productive then quantity on the virtual felt.

I get more excitement playing one (maybe two) tables well, rather then six tables like a ABC poker donkey.

I do believe that people should bonus whore a little when starting out to weather the “paying for your lessons” stage of a poker player. But, not to the point where you are relying on the bonus to help you break even every month. After you’ve been playing for over a year or so (relative time/number of hands played taken in consideration of course) you should be a better then break-even player or at least donating money to my bankroll.

Your post was a breath of compressed air (NOT FROM A SNORKEL!) to my poker game. Hopefully I can repay you by busting you out of the WPBT Aladdin
