Cutting Back

by Bill Rini on July 1, 2005

in Poker

Well, I just checked Bloglines and I seem to have 90 poker blogs tracked (plus about another 10 poker news sites and 20 poker related message boards, etc). That’s a lot-0-blogs. Too many blogs. So I’m going to be cutting back a bit. I dropped my poker blog list down to 30. I had to make some tough choices about who I could read and who I had to put into my pergatory list (i.e. I didn’t delete anybody, they’re just not on my list of daily reads) but in the end I’m far more likely to read every post from those 30 people than read any posts from over 90. Some days I was just hitting “Mark all as read” because I’m looking at 292 unread posts and I know I’m never going to get to them.

All of that got me to thinking though. If you could only read 10 poker blogs, which 10 would they be (no fair listing your own blog)? I’ll go first (in no particular order):

1. Iggy’s Blog
2. Pauly’s Blog
3. Al Can’t Hang’s Blog
4. Poker Prof’s Blog
5. HDouble’s Blog
6. Felicia’s Blog
7. Grubby’s Blog
8. Joe Speaker’s Blog
9. Up For Poker
10. Paul Phillips Blog

There are just too many great blogs for me to put on the top 10…yet, I’m hurt that I’m not on your top 10…it’s o.k. I know no pun was intended.

There is NO WAY I’m falling for this…..but I will say that you’re in my Top 10, mainly because it’s in alphabetical order. Bah!

Slacker.

What could be more important than reading all the poker blogs?

Finally someone with the cahones to post a list :-)

BTW, I’m not offended if I’m not on someone’s top ten. That wasn’t the purpose of the post. Just trying to get a feel for whether or not my 30 daily reads include most people’s top tens. In fact, for the sake of trying to coax the chickens (and roosters), regardless of whether I’m on your top 10 or not, don’t include me in your posted top 10.

So for instance, StB’s list has only one site that isn’t on my daily reads (Poker Chronicles).

This actually has a lot to do with the people I met in December at the first WPBT event. I wish I had more time because I’m sure there would be other blogs I would read more regularly.

I posted my starter best ten (all boys):
http://poker.about.com/od/booksblogsmags/tp/bestblogs1.htm

and the women:
http://poker.about.com/od/booksblogsmags/tp/womenblogs.htm

and I’m working on the 2nd top ten. You’ll be on that one. :) It is so damn hard to narrow it down. I have 80 on my rss.
