There’s been a bit of a tug-a-war going on over the timing of the next WPBT event. My intention was to get some agreement from the poker blogging community and try to get something organized around that. Unfortunately, things don’t always go as planned and for that reason we’re going to shoot for a December event instead of October. There’s just too many people and things integral to the planning that don’t work out in October.
No exact dates have been set yet but plan on December. Most likely we’ll be shooting for doing this around the Five-Diamond World Poker Classic (and WPT) event which runs the 13th – 17th. Poker Prof and I had a chat this weekend and once the WSOP mania dies down we’ll start shopping for a venue. There’s a bunch of cool stuff we’ve been batting around (both for the tournament as well as in general) and as those things start to come together we’ll announce them here.

Hi, my name is Bill Rini and this is my poker blog. I've been blogging about poker and the poker industry since around 2003-ish. Like most people I started out playing poker as entertainment in home games whenever we wanted to sit around and smoke cigars, drink beer, and eat pizza, and needed a good excuse. I started playing online shortly after the first online card rooms opened and it wasn't long before I was playing 20, 30, or even 40 hours a week or more. One day I received a phone call about a program manager position at Tiltware which was the company that consulted to Full Tilt Poker on software development and marketing. After Tiltware I spent about 2.5 years working at Party Poker where I was the poker room manager.
