I know I had promised folks more info by Monday but I couldn’t catch Bob on Monday and he was out until today. So, here’s the scoop:
Bob has us at the $29 / $39 rates ($29 weekday, $39 weekend). You can go ahead and make reservations by emailing Bob Cohen with the following info:
1. Mention me!!!! Tell him that you’re part of my group. This is a special rate so Bob needs to know you’re not some shlub just trying to get a cheap room.
2. Give Bob the following info:
- Full Name
- Address
- Phone number
- Birthday (he’ll have a player card waiting for you when you arrive and bday is required for player card sign ups)
- Dates you wish to reserve
- Preference of two double beds or one king
- Preference of Smoking or non-smoking rooms
3. Ping me and let me know you’re booked. Of course, this is optional but it is appreciated as I’ll try to keep a running list so everybody knows who’s coming and will give me a good idea of who to contact with new info and guesstimating the total number of players in the tournament. You can either leave a note in the comments or email me using the contact link at the top of the page.
Bob’s email is the first letter of his first name and then his full last name @ ImperialPalace.com (how’s that for screwing up the spam bots?).
If you choose not to stay at the Imperial Palace, ping me too so I at least know that we should reserve a chair for you at the tournament. I don’t think they’ll cap it but they may if it gets too large so don’t get left out :-)
Lastly, this looks to be a pretty exciting adventure. PokerProf and I are working hard to line up some cool stuff. I’ll let him announce it when it’s final but he got an informal “sure” from one pro that several people have written about in their blogs. I’ve also spoken with a blogger favorite who said he’s 95% sure he’ll come. We’re also working on a Q&A or instructional session prior to the tournament ala the last Winter Classic.
See you in Vegas!
For a complete list of who’s coming, see this post.

Hi, my name is Bill Rini and this is my poker blog. I've been blogging about poker and the poker industry since around 2003-ish. Like most people I started out playing poker as entertainment in home games whenever we wanted to sit around and smoke cigars, drink beer, and eat pizza, and needed a good excuse. I started playing online shortly after the first online card rooms opened and it wasn't long before I was playing 20, 30, or even 40 hours a week or more. One day I received a phone call about a program manager position at Tiltware which was the company that consulted to Full Tilt Poker on software development and marketing. After Tiltware I spent about 2.5 years working at Party Poker where I was the poker room manager.

Wheeeeeeee! Thanks!
It will be awile before I book, as I’m waiting for word on a final exam date, but I will be there, so please get me a seat in the tourney. All that is up in the air for me is how long I stay for.
Nice work!!! As soon as I finalize plans, I’m sure you’ll get a ping from me!
Thanks!
I know the “main event” tournament is on the 10th, but do you know how many days around it people are planning on taking? I want to stay for more than just the weekend this time, and would preferably like to do that when other people are actually there. :)
Well, I’ve haven’t firmed up all my plans as of yet but I was thinking of maybe flying out Thurs. and back on Monday.
Count me in for the tourney – I think I’ll be rooming with April H and she’ll be booking the hotel room. Thanks!
They are going to hand out players cards? As what, a souvenir? The place will be closed at the end of the month.
I have a player’s card from there already… is there a new one with the new management?
Gus and I will definitely be at the tournament, we just need to find a reasonable flight. (If anyone knows of any good deals, please email me!)
It looks highly probable that I will be there too — I’m very excited.
Columbo needs more materials for his one minute mysteries!!! I am officially upgrading my prognosis from “maybe” to “hopeful”. I am in the act of finding sitting services with Grandma Columbo.
I just sent the email off to Cohen…
