I was bored and noticed I had a few dollars in my PokerStars account so I decided to doink them off in some SnG’s. Intead of doinking, I went on a rush. Ok, I lost the first $5 SnG when I got my money in as a huge favorite (QQ vs. 66) and got sucked out on but after that I could do no wrong. If I raised pre-flop and missed the flop, my continuation bet folded my opponents. When I got big hands, they got paid off. Bluffs worked! Here are the results:

Hi, my name is Bill Rini and this is my poker blog. I've been blogging about poker and the poker industry since around 2003-ish. Like most people I started out playing poker as entertainment in home games whenever we wanted to sit around and smoke cigars, drink beer, and eat pizza, and needed a good excuse. I started playing online shortly after the first online card rooms opened and it wasn't long before I was playing 20, 30, or even 40 hours a week or more. One day I received a phone call about a program manager position at Tiltware which was the company that consulted to Full Tilt Poker on software development and marketing. After Tiltware I spent about 2.5 years working at Party Poker where I was the poker room manager.

Nice run, congrats
You’re well on your way to $20K. Tell Jesus that you’re after his record!
That’s more wins than I have lifetime. I am the Charlie Brown of poker.
I am curious to know what the “few dollars” in your account was when you started. Nice run.
If you’re not playing PokerStars, you’re missing out.
woohoo, lunch is on bill today!
StB,
It was around $100. Probably left over from some previous blogger tournament tournament.

Congrats on the SnG Streak, I do think it’s Funny to think that $100, is change to you in poker. And if I have a $100 in my account I am playing great and have doubled up…
Kendall,
First, it was money I wasn’t even aware I had so in a sense it was like reaching into your pocket and finding a $20.
Second, $100 isn’t even a buy-in at the limits I normally play. In other words, it’s not enough money to even sit down at a table with.
So, with those two factors combined, $100 is a small amount of money in relation to the stakes I play at. Though I said I was going to doink the money away, obviously I wasn’t giving my cash to anyone out of charity. I just didn’t have any expectation for it as anything more than a time killer.
