Lots of news:
1. We are now closed to any further players. We maxed out! Technically, we could beg the IP to put us in a bigger room and add more tables but we would like to keep the length of the tournament reasonable while keeping the blind structure semi-sane. We’re already looking at 5 – 6 hours or more with the current number of players so we don’t want to turn this into a marathon.
2. Wil Wheaton is in. Maybe we can create a PokerStars vs. FullTilt challenge :-)
3. CJ and -EV are our two first Shoot Out in the Desert Winners. We have another tournament this weekend and next to determine our table of six in Las Vegas.
4. More cool stuff is in the works.

Hi, my name is Bill Rini and this is my poker blog. I've been blogging about poker and the poker industry since around 2003-ish. Like most people I started out playing poker as entertainment in home games whenever we wanted to sit around and smoke cigars, drink beer, and eat pizza, and needed a good excuse. I started playing online shortly after the first online card rooms opened and it wasn't long before I was playing 20, 30, or even 40 hours a week or more. One day I received a phone call about a program manager position at Tiltware which was the company that consulted to Full Tilt Poker on software development and marketing. After Tiltware I spent about 2.5 years working at Party Poker where I was the poker room manager.

I wonder… what happens when Wil gets busted out by teh Hammer? ;)
I have got to stop reading these updates. I’ve become nothing if not useless at work in anticipation of The Vegas.
Like Derek said, great job setting this up! Caaaaan’t wait for the “main event,” blogger style. And where do I send your kickback for rigging the Satellite for me last weekend? Mwah!
Arrgh. Can’t. Go. To. Vegas. New. Job. Too. New. Too. Get. Time. Off.
You probably assumed I’d be a no-show by now, but I didn’t want to say it wasn’t so until I was sure I couldn’t weasel my way to Vegas. Will be watching from the cyber-sidelines with eyes filled with green, green envy.
