Shortly before the WPBT festivities kicked off, the PokerProf was foolish enough to award me the prestigious 2005 Golden Prof award. I think this just goes to show that if you work hard, never quit, and dedicate yourself, you’ll find a way to come up with enough money to bribe your way to the top.
Prof says:
2005 Golden Prof…Bill’s Blog, Bill Rini-This was an easy decision, Bill Rini has expended incredible effort for the blogger community. His passion, dedication, perseverance and hard work are the reason the December blogger tournament is possible. Bill’s excellent, long standing poker blog and scuba blog have long been a fixture in the community and his newest creation, Poker Filter is nothing to sneeze at, so here’s to the ‘Jacques Cousteau’ of Poker Blogger’s.
Other noteable awards went to Hall of Fame inductees Up For Poker and Grubby. Dr. Pauly and the Tao of Poker took the Silver Prof with BG at Gambling Blues taking the Silver Prof.
I’m hoping to save up enough money so that next year I can be awarded the PokerProf Lifetime Achievement Award or even the PokerProf Medal of Freedom. I know, it’s a pretty lofty goal but we never improve unless we set the bar high enough.

Actually, I’m honored and congratulate everyone who the Prof has seen as worthy of receiving recognition. With so many bloggers and more sprouting up every day, it says something to be singled out. Congrats everyone!

Best of, Worst of 2005

Hi, my name is Bill Rini and this is my poker blog. I've been blogging about poker and the poker industry since around 2003-ish. Like most people I started out playing poker as entertainment in home games whenever we wanted to sit around and smoke cigars, drink beer, and eat pizza, and needed a good excuse. I started playing online shortly after the first online card rooms opened and it wasn't long before I was playing 20, 30, or even 40 hours a week or more. One day I received a phone call about a program manager position at Tiltware which was the company that consulted to Full Tilt Poker on software development and marketing. After Tiltware I spent about 2.5 years working at Party Poker where I was the poker room manager.

I must get the Platinum award for blog readers then because these are the 3 blogs I hit up every morning at work (Jacques Cousteau’s Poker, BG, and Tao of P). Good work you guys, congrats, and keep it up or I’ll literally have to shoot myself at work.
You deserve it, man. Congrats.
