Zynga Ready for Real Money Gaming or Trying to Hide Failures?Yet another Friday evening spent in the good company of some of the most degenerate gamblers this side of Vegas. Highlights of the evening:
F-Train was in town and showed up for the game.
Shane Nickerson made the drive.
Alan from Geek and Proud also found his way to our doorsteps.
Took 3rd in the tournament. I haven’t cashed in this game for a while so that was a nice treat.
I finally delivered the knockout punch to Katkin to bust him out in the tournament. Better yet, I did it Katkin style. I came from behind on a flush draw and crushed his set.
We came up with a new name for pocket kings; The Brokeback Mountain, because you can’t quit them.
I left after the tournament due to the overcrowding of the cash game. How can you isolate the donkeys when you’re at a 12 handed table? -EV all the way around. It was a loooooooooong week anyway so I decided to go home and call it a night.
I missed Hanel’s run-in with the gods of poker but from his write-up it seems like a pretty brutal beating.

Hi, my name is Bill Rini and this is my poker blog. I've been blogging about poker and the poker industry since around 2003-ish. Like most people I started out playing poker as entertainment in home games whenever we wanted to sit around and smoke cigars, drink beer, and eat pizza, and needed a good excuse. I started playing online shortly after the first online card rooms opened and it wasn't long before I was playing 20, 30, or even 40 hours a week or more. One day I received a phone call about a program manager position at Tiltware which was the company that consulted to Full Tilt Poker on software development and marketing. After Tiltware I spent about 2.5 years working at Party Poker where I was the poker room manager.
