You're right, the government could care less about your 10K loss. They just want the cut of your newly acquired $10K (income/sponsorship).....call it whatever you want. Hence when I partnered with Golden Palace on the Pink Bunny marketing stunt last year I got $15K.........to cover the taxes. I'll bet a thousand dollars this guy doesn't get anyone to sponsor him.
