In news that is sure to rock the online poker world, Pamela Anderson has decided to call it quits on her online poker room PamelaPoker.com. Anderson (shown here with Kid Rock), who is known for making wise choices in both her personal life and business, says that there are too many shady areas. She says that she doesn’t want to encourage people to gamble, that she didn’t know what she was getting into, and that she loves Doyle and wishes him all the best. This obviously comes as a shock to the entire online poker playing community. Anderson has been rooted in the online poker world for months now and industry observers are questioning whether online poker is even a viable business model in light of Anderson’s exit from market.
Poker site should have been shut down last month. I have nothing to do with it anymore. Too many shady areas. I really don’t want to encourage people to gamble. This must be turned off. It just didn’t work out. Even in my heart. Good luck to Doyle’s Room. I love him. He is authentic to the game. I made a mistake getting involved in something I know nothing about for a quick buck! Yuck. So unlike me. Glad it’s over.
Of course, just a few days ago she said on her blog:
Everyone gambles in Canada! Too bad my poker site fell apart-too many rules in USA. No fun.
So it can only be assumed that she doesn’t wish to encourage US players to gamble but since everyone in Canada gambles anyway, gambling there is cool.
When asked about Anderson’s withdrawal from the online poker world a PokerStars insider who asked to remain anonymous commented, “This is being looked at very seriously. I mean, Pam Anderson is getting out of online poker? Obviously every online poker room is re-examining their business trying to make sense of it.”

Hi, my name is Bill Rini and this is my poker blog. I've been blogging about poker and the poker industry since around 2003-ish. Like most people I started out playing poker as entertainment in home games whenever we wanted to sit around and smoke cigars, drink beer, and eat pizza, and needed a good excuse. I started playing online shortly after the first online card rooms opened and it wasn't long before I was playing 20, 30, or even 40 hours a week or more. One day I received a phone call about a program manager position at Tiltware which was the company that consulted to Full Tilt Poker on software development and marketing. After Tiltware I spent about 2.5 years working at Party Poker where I was the poker room manager.

Damn. I heard when you made your initial deposit you got a 50% bonus and hepatitis C. What a blow.
Don’t worry, I heard that Snoop Dogg’s in the market.
