Mansion Poker seems to be the site known for massive overlays in their guarantee tournaments. Now they’re solidifying their position with a $100K a Day promotion. They’re doing $100K guarantees daily! Now, on Stars, Party, of Full Tilt that might not be too juicy since they would likely cover or fall slightly short but Mansion is missing their guarantees by about $50K a day. That means they’re giving away about $50K a day.
They have tournaments scheduled daily thru at least the 17th of Jan (though they’ve said in marketing emails that they’re going until the end of Jan) and the fields have been running about 500 players. Unfortunately, for me, they all begin at 3am GMT which is 4am where I’m at so that does limit my chances a bit. For those in the US, that’s 10pm Eastern (7pm Pacific) which should be pretty optimal.
Buy-in is $100 or you can satellite in from some $10 SnG’s.
Let’s just say you play every tournament from today until the 31st and Mansion continues to miss their guarantees at the same rate:
20 x $100 = $2000 in buy-ins
20 x $50,000 = $1,000,000 in overlay
Here’s Mansion’s results so far:
| Date | # of Players | Overlay |
| 1/3/06 | 498 | $50,200 |
| 1/4/06 | 531 | $46,900 |
| 1/5/06 | 532 | $46,800 |
| 1/6/06 | 541 | $45,900 |
| 1/7/06 | 494 | $50,600 |
| 1/8/06 | 502 | $49,800 |
| 1/9/06 | 521 | $47,900 |
| 1/10/06 | 532 | $46,800 |

Online Poker Industry Report July 1, 2008

Hi, my name is Bill Rini and this is my poker blog. I've been blogging about poker and the poker industry since around 2003-ish. Like most people I started out playing poker as entertainment in home games whenever we wanted to sit around and smoke cigars, drink beer, and eat pizza, and needed a good excuse. I started playing online shortly after the first online card rooms opened and it wasn't long before I was playing 20, 30, or even 40 hours a week or more. One day I received a phone call about a program manager position at Tiltware which was the company that consulted to Full Tilt Poker on software development and marketing. After Tiltware I spent about 2.5 years working at Party Poker where I was the poker room manager.
