PokerBandits.ca Closing a Hoax

by Bill Rini on February 14, 2007

From their site:

Hoax: A Necessary Evil

We apologize to all for any inconvenience that may have resulted by our recent hoax, however we found it necessary to perpetuate given the current state of online poker in the United States. We believe a much needed scrutiny is required of the recently passed Internet Gambling Enforcement Act. Not only does this bill violate the constitutional rights of US citizens but also facilitates the US government to unilaterally withhold funds of online poker players and make arrests of foreign payment processors. We strongly disapprove of the Internet Gambling Enforcement Act and actively encourage all our users to sign up with the Poker Players Alliance. For those users who were inquiring, PokerBandits.ca will be re-launched later this week.

Thank You
-PokerBandits Team

Or is it? Maybe the government is just trying to lure people back in so they can get their names and IP addresses. Nah!
