Man Up, Calvin!

Calvin Ayre recently posted a challenge to Scott Lewis of 1st Technology LLC. Ayre is suggesting that Scott Lewis and he have a $1 million MMA (mixed martial arts) brawl to be filmed and distributed by Ayre’s own production company. Wow, that seems like such a great offer. If Ayre’s wins then he gets to take out his aggressions on Scott Lewis for free and he gets all his domains back. If Scott Lewis wins he gets $1 million of the $48 he’s owed. Either way Ayre surely stands to make more than his million dollar wager on television and syndication rights. That sounds like a great prop bet . . . if you’re Calvin Ayre. Talk about reverse implied odds.

The bottom line is that, IMHO, Lewis’ patent claims are pretty bogus. He won his case against Bodog because they chose not to show up in court assuming Lewis couldn’t seize anything from them since they held no assets in the US. Oh, except for the Bodog.com domain names which a US judge ordered to go dark until Bodog pays.

Calvin, if you’re actually serious then put up a wager that means something. Offer him $100 million (a little more than double his court award) if he wins. Even though that is chump change to a billionaire like yourself, it’s enough to sting a little bit if you lose. Plus it’s enough money that you might actaully get some major media outlets to pick it up. Your current offer is silly and you know as well as anyone that Lewis would have to be a first grade idiot to accept it.

Man up and make an offer that might actually get accepted!

Your move, Calvin.
