It’s one thing when some fluff piece, re-written press release makes its way around the poker press but when you keep seeing it pop up over and over again you have to wonder how damn slow is the poker news biz these days. Case in point is a press release / news article that PKR has signed an agreement making Xhilarate Poker its exclusive massage supplier at all live events in the future. Holy crap! They’ve signed an official massage supplier? Stop the presses.
Really? A massage supplier? A massage supplier that specializes in poker? Why is this news? Why is this appearing on what I normally consider reputable poker news outlets?

Hi, my name is Bill Rini and this is my poker blog. I've been blogging about poker and the poker industry since around 2003-ish. Like most people I started out playing poker as entertainment in home games whenever we wanted to sit around and smoke cigars, drink beer, and eat pizza, and needed a good excuse. I started playing online shortly after the first online card rooms opened and it wasn't long before I was playing 20, 30, or even 40 hours a week or more. One day I received a phone call about a program manager position at Tiltware which was the company that consulted to Full Tilt Poker on software development and marketing. After Tiltware I spent about 2.5 years working at Party Poker where I was the poker room manager.

I have been a follower of your blog for a while now. I have also just started a Poker News site. So after the comments about your problem with poker news sites, I will offer you an answer. Like you I am disapointed with the level of news that comes out some of the leading sites. However, as I am just about to start a poker news site, for the same reasons you dislike them, to make a top quility poker news site.
