New Year’s Eve in Bangkok is always fun. Many people come down to Central Chit Lom which is up the street from my place but I’m not really into massive crowds. Really, it gets like Times Square with thousands of people jamming the streets. And getting out of there after midnight has to be total chaos. I saw on the walkway to the BTS train station they had set up 4 or 5 booths to sell tickets because there’s no way thousands of people who all need to buy tickets could be handled by a two window shack at the turnstiles.
This is where they have the big party out in front of Central World. Soon it will be packed with thousands of people.
Instead, Thailand Friends was hosting an event at The Australian bar. For being Aussie themed it doesn’t seem to be a huge Aussie hangout but they have a cool band and it’s large enough to host a lot of people. I’ve been there a few times before and always had a good time.
This last one was actually one someone took at the Fancy Dress party that I previously posted about. Just some goofing off.
Hope everyone had a safe and fun NYE.

Hi, my name is Bill Rini and this is my poker blog. I've been blogging about poker and the poker industry since around 2003-ish. Like most people I started out playing poker as entertainment in home games whenever we wanted to sit around and smoke cigars, drink beer, and eat pizza, and needed a good excuse. I started playing online shortly after the first online card rooms opened and it wasn't long before I was playing 20, 30, or even 40 hours a week or more. One day I received a phone call about a program manager position at Tiltware which was the company that consulted to Full Tilt Poker on software development and marketing. After Tiltware I spent about 2.5 years working at Party Poker where I was the poker room manager.
