I just wanted to thank everyone who has sent money to help out the family of Wanphen Pienjai. We’re still not at our goal but we’re off to a good start. You can check out any of the threads below about Ron Fanelli or Wanphen to get all the details.
Also, please, please spread the word. Believe it or not but not every poker player reads this blog (I know, crazy, huh?) so if you can just write a few lines about it on your blogs or posting something on a message board it will help people know about this good cause.
Looks like the WCOOP at PokerStars is gearing up again. Starting September 5th and going through the 26th, the World Championship of Online Poker will host 62 events and haver over $50 million in guaranteed prize pools. Get on over there if you’re starting to come down off your WSOP high.
Not much else going on at the moment so I’ll just leave you with some traditional Thai dancing being performed for parents on Mother’s Day (Aug 12).

The Week(s) That Was

Hi, my name is Bill Rini and this is my poker blog. I've been blogging about poker and the poker industry since around 2003-ish. Like most people I started out playing poker as entertainment in home games whenever we wanted to sit around and smoke cigars, drink beer, and eat pizza, and needed a good excuse. I started playing online shortly after the first online card rooms opened and it wasn't long before I was playing 20, 30, or even 40 hours a week or more. One day I received a phone call about a program manager position at Tiltware which was the company that consulted to Full Tilt Poker on software development and marketing. After Tiltware I spent about 2.5 years working at Party Poker where I was the poker room manager.
