Not a terribly innovative promotion but Party is running The Snowball during the month of September. Basically it’s a tiered promotion where the more points you earn the bigger the prizes. The name Snowball comes from the fact that as you move up the 15 levels you keep the prize earned at the lower level.
For instance, if you earn 5 points you get a $5,000 free roll entry. In many promotions if you hit the next level at 25 points which has a prize of a $10,000 free roll entry you get both the $5,000 and the $10,000. Top prize is $1,500 if you earn 50,000 points which may not sound like a lot but you will have picked up $5,000 in cash plus $100,000 in free roll entries (total cash prize pool of $100,000).
Check it out on Party’s website for more details.

Hi, my name is Bill Rini and this is my poker blog. I've been blogging about poker and the poker industry since around 2003-ish. Like most people I started out playing poker as entertainment in home games whenever we wanted to sit around and smoke cigars, drink beer, and eat pizza, and needed a good excuse. I started playing online shortly after the first online card rooms opened and it wasn't long before I was playing 20, 30, or even 40 hours a week or more. One day I received a phone call about a program manager position at Tiltware which was the company that consulted to Full Tilt Poker on software development and marketing. After Tiltware I spent about 2.5 years working at Party Poker where I was the poker room manager.
