I was wanting to write about this but haven’t gotten around to it until now. According to Variety the World Poker Tour has re-upped with Fox Sports Net for another 3 seasons and in the process got their timeslots locked in. Whereas before FSN more or less showed the WPT sporadically making it difficult for fans to follow, seasons 9 – 11 of the WPT will air at 8pm and 11pm Sundays (with other showings during the week).
This is coming on the back of the WPT’s two most recent events, Legends at the Bike and the London Poker Classic. Lots of good buzz about both events and drew some top name pros like Phil Ivey, Erik Seidel, Huck Seed, Tony G, and others.
I had previously predicted that Party would have a hard time turning this brand around and I questioned where it fit into the overall strategy but I think they’re doing a decent job of it. Nice to see and the new Royal Flush Girls aren’t too hard to look at either.

Hi, my name is Bill Rini and this is my poker blog. I've been blogging about poker and the poker industry since around 2003-ish. Like most people I started out playing poker as entertainment in home games whenever we wanted to sit around and smoke cigars, drink beer, and eat pizza, and needed a good excuse. I started playing online shortly after the first online card rooms opened and it wasn't long before I was playing 20, 30, or even 40 hours a week or more. One day I received a phone call about a program manager position at Tiltware which was the company that consulted to Full Tilt Poker on software development and marketing. After Tiltware I spent about 2.5 years working at Party Poker where I was the poker room manager.
