I was walking up to the Chit Lom BTS station this afternoon to meet a friend for coffee and noticed several large transport buses sitting out in front of the Grand Hyatt Hotel. Further investigation revealed several Liverpool signs and logos inside the buses. Police stationed outside the hotel had also slapped on Liverpool stickers on their police motorcycles.
It’s been announced that Liverpool is in town to play the Thai national team tonight in an exhibition match so putting 2 and 2 together it looks like Liverpool is staying about a block away from my apartment. Some Thai Liverpool fans are lingering around in front of the hotel on the sidewalk and talking with cops who are mostly sitting around having a laugh.
For those of you who don’t know, Thais are English football crazy. They all have a favorite English team and it’s not uncommon to see Thais glued to the television in a pub watching the matches in their Man U, Liverpool, or Chelsea jerseys.
I might try to head up there a little later on and see if I can’t get some interesting photos. I’m a bit swamped at the moment so no promises.

Hi, my name is Bill Rini and this is my poker blog. I've been blogging about poker and the poker industry since around 2003-ish. Like most people I started out playing poker as entertainment in home games whenever we wanted to sit around and smoke cigars, drink beer, and eat pizza, and needed a good excuse. I started playing online shortly after the first online card rooms opened and it wasn't long before I was playing 20, 30, or even 40 hours a week or more. One day I received a phone call about a program manager position at Tiltware which was the company that consulted to Full Tilt Poker on software development and marketing. After Tiltware I spent about 2.5 years working at Party Poker where I was the poker room manager.

These friendlies tend to be dull and give little insight.
However, its intriguing times for Liverpool, I believe them to be strongest for the Premiership title
