Okay, I’ve seen this reported as a rumor in several places and PokerProf has said he’s heard rumblings too. So far, it’s been reported on PokerNetwork and NeverWin. Just posted over at 2+2 but that post references the NeverWin news item.
There aren’t many details but the rumor is that Doyle was arrested on unknown charges. The PokerNetwork post says that the info comes on good authority and the NeverWin news item by DanDruff says his source is “a Pokerstars employee and generally trusted player.” Could be the same person but the thing that I find odd is that the person spreading the rumor didn’t do all of the normal stuff people do when they cook up a bogus story. There’s no specific mention of a crime in any report. Both reports say that the reasons for his arrest are unknown. A good troll would try to link this to the recent Neteller arrests or some other juicy crime.
More info if and when this story develops.

Hi, my name is Bill Rini and this is my poker blog. I've been blogging about poker and the poker industry since around 2003-ish. Like most people I started out playing poker as entertainment in home games whenever we wanted to sit around and smoke cigars, drink beer, and eat pizza, and needed a good excuse. I started playing online shortly after the first online card rooms opened and it wasn't long before I was playing 20, 30, or even 40 hours a week or more. One day I received a phone call about a program manager position at Tiltware which was the company that consulted to Full Tilt Poker on software development and marketing. After Tiltware I spent about 2.5 years working at Party Poker where I was the poker room manager.
